Pirates plunder unbeated LaCrosse-Washtucna

POMEROY — Pomeroy jumped out to an early lead, 16-5 after one quarter, over previously unbeaten LaCrosse-Washtucna and hung on for a 42-40 Southeast 1B victory, handing the TigerCats their first loss of the season.

“Defensively we played pretty well,” Pomeroy coach Brian Koller said. “We hit some shots in the first quarter as well, that always helps.

“This was a big win for us,” Koller said.

Tanner Feider and Riley Bott each scored 11 points to lead the Pirates (9-2 overall, 6-2 SE1B) to victory.

L-W falls to 11-1 overall and 7-1 in the SE1B.

Pomeroy hosts Tekoa-Oakesdale Friday.
