WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Public Library winter reading program starts this evening at 7 at the library, 238 E. Alder St. The theme for the winter program is Big Idea Talks: A Taste of Culture.

“Five Quarters of the Orange” by Joanne Harris, will be presented by Hannah MacDonald of Brasserie Four.

“Five Quarters of the Orange” completes Harris’ food trilogy, which includes her books “Chocolat” and “Blackberry Wine.” It explores some of the same themes, more darkly than the previous two.

Copies of the book are available to check out. The reading program is free. For more information, call 527-4550.
