Touchet girls start on fire, hold off Rosalia

ROSALIA — Touchet came out of the blocks on fire here Saturday in Southeast 1B girls basketball action.

The Indians jumped to a 21-8 lead over Rosalia after one quarter, but Rosalia turned the tables in the second quarter.

Touchet led 31-26 at the half.

The Indians held on to escape with a 46-44 win.

“We had a big first quarter,” Touchet coach Malissa McKeown said. “We shot really well in the first. They started to chip away. They went into a zone and we got the hang of it after awhile and hung on and got the win.”

Cierra Jo McKeown led the Indians with 21 points and six assists.

McKenzie Reddish led Rosalia with a double-double. Reddish scored 18 and pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.

Kristen Warner joined McKeown in double digits for Touchet. Warner scored 15 and led the Indian rebounders with nine.

The Indians improve to 9-4 overall and 6-3 in the SE1B race. Touchet hosts Garfield-Palouse Friday.
