The Downtown Walla Walla Foundation is whipping up its fourth annual Julia Child Cookoff with a focus on dessert.
This year’s special dish: chocolate mousse.
Amateur chefs are invited to participate in the Feb. 17 competition that takes place at the Marcus Whitman Hotel & Conference Center from 2 to 4 p.m.
The dishes will be judged by a panel of professional local chefs and previous winners.
Those interested in participating need only be interested in food and willing to try new things, according to the announcement. Those who make a living either cooking, preparing, crafting or teaching about food need not apply.
