Tai Chi instructor levels up, will offer classes for beginners

Sandi Wicher, owner of Harmony & Health, is wrapping up two weeks of training with Dr. Paul Lam to become a Tai Chi for Health Institute Master Trainer.

The designation will allow Wicher to offer independent instructor certification workshops in the Tai Chi for Health programs, as well as instructor certification workshops in Tai Chi for Arthritis forms. One of nine U.S. senior trainers nominated to attend the two-week sessions, Wicher has studied with Lam and other instructors and masters for 15 years.

Upon her return, she will offer her beginning-level Tai Chi classes free to newcomers, starting Monday. The 11:15 a.m. class Tuesdays and Thursdays will be seated Tai Chi, which can also be done standing. This class is appropriate for those who struggle with balance issues, chronic conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, Parkinsons, heart problems, stress, fibromyalgia, fatigue and more. A 10 a.m. class also on Tuesdays and Thursdays is for those already practicing and interested in trying different forms of Tai Chi, including Tai Chi for Arthritis, Tai Chi for Diabetes, Sun Style 73 Forms, Yang Style 24 Forms and Tai Chi Fan Form.

The classes take place at Many Waters Wellness Center, 820 Sprague Ave. For more details visit manywaterswellnesscenter.com or email Wicher at sandi99362@gmail.com.
