A reception event at Animal Clinic of Walla Walla will give visitors a chance to shake hands with the newest veterinary associate on the team.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, new associate Dr. Jamie Arndt will be available to meet with guests. The event will also feature several educational sessions, and the clinic will serve hot dogs and refreshments.
The office, 2089 Taumarson Road, is a full-service clinic that practices small and large animal medicine, surgery and dentistry.
Arndt joined the team in early December. She practices large and small animal medicine alongside hospital owners Dr. Bret Smith and Dr. Lori Pritchett.
She decided at an early age to become a veterinarian during a childhood in Springdale, Mont., where her assortment of animal pets ranged from turtles to mules.
She earned her bachelor’s degree with honors at Montana State University in 2007. She served in the Montana Army National Guard from 2000 to 2007, including a deployment in Iraq in 2003 and 2004 as a flight operations section sergeant.
After completing her service she attended the Royal Veterinary College in London, where she earned her bachelor of veterinary medicine, graduating in 2012 with honors. She returned to the U.S. shortly after.
