Theft and vandalism reports were filed Tuesday, Wednesday and today unless otherwise noted.

Thefts, Burglaries

WW Police

  • 400 block of North Fourth Avenue. A 2006 Suzuki Grand Vitara reported stolen from driveway.
  • 300 block of Catherine Street. Power tools reported stolen from construction trailer.
  • 400 block of South First Avenue. Bike reportedly stolen.
  • 400 block of South First Avenue. Bike reportedly stolen.

WW County Sheriff

  • 500 block of Northwest Evans Street. Report of prowler attempting to enter residence.

MF Police

  • 200 block of Northwest Sixth Avenue. Medication reported stolen.
  • 00 block of Southwest Eighth Avenue. Cell phone charger reported stolen.
  • 000 block of Northwest Eighth Avenue. School sign reportedly stolen.

Umatilla County Sheriff

  • 85000 block of Tum-A-Lum Road, Milton-Freewater. A resident of Tum-A-Lum road reported he “chased off” suspects who he believed were entering cars on his property.
  • Highway 11, Milton-Freewater. Report of 900 pounds of scrap metal stolen.
  • Highway 11, Milton-Freewater. Police received two reports of a suspect in a gold Toyota Camry stealing items from different locations.

Collisions

WW Police

  • Second Avenue and Morton Street, 2:33 p.m., Wednesday. Two vehicle collision due to icy road conditions; no injuries reported.
  • Dalles-Military Road and Ninth Avenue, 3:26 p.m., Wednesday. Motorist struck a parked car due to icy parking lot conditions; no injuries reported.
  • Tietan Street and Fourth Avenue, 2:30 p.m., Wednesday. Three vehicle rear-end collision due to icy road conditions; no injuries reported.
  • Main and Palouse streets, Tuesday. Two-vehicle collision in five-way intersection; A 64-year-old woman was transported with chest pains.
  • Isaacs Avenue and Main Street, 1:14 p.m., Tuesday. Hit-and-run crash; suspect driver located and cited.

WW County Sheriff

  • Harvey Shaw Road, 1.8 miles north of State Route 125. Vehicle rollover due to icy road conditions; no injuries reported.

MF Police

  • 100 block of East Broadway Street. Hit-and-run crash; no injuries reported.
  • Main Street and Second Avenue. Hit-and-run crash; no injuries reported.

Umatilla County Sheriff

  • Banister and Schrimpf roads, 10:21 a.m., Saturday. One vehicle rollover; no injuries reported.

Vandalism

WW Police

  • 000 block of East Chestnut Street. Gang graffiti on vehicle reported.
  • VFW Post 992, 102 N. Colville St. Graffiti reported.

WW County Sheriff

  • Jackson and Sturm streets. Graffit reported.

CP Police

  • 1700 block of South College Avenue. Lock of soda dispensing machine damaged.

Miscellaneous

WW Police

  • Safeway, 215 E. Rose Street. Police arrested a 22-year-old man for criminal trespass after store employees allegedly caught the man attempting to steal booze. Safeway staff attempted to roust the would-be shoplifter, who refused to leave the store. The purported purloiner continued to refuse “to leave until he was ready,” when police officers contacted him in the magazine aisle of the store. The 22-year-old was arrested on investigation of second-degree criminal trespassing.

WW County Sheriff

  • 4,000 block of Old Milton Highway. A Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a report of a vehicle knocking down garbage cans. The deputy found roughly seven cans had been downed. The deputy reported “to ensure the residents did not miss garbage service in the morning, I retrieved the garbage cans and placed them back on the roadside.”
  • Walla Walla High School, 800 Abbot Road. A Wa-Hi student reported his cellphone stolen from his locker during PE class. The victim’s father, who is an administrator at the school, tracked the phone to another classroom. In the presence of a police officer, the wily dad called the phone, outing the alleged perpetrator, who stated he had found the phone. The 15-year-old suspect was lodged at the Walla Walla Juvenile Justice Center on investigation of third-degree theft.

Umatilla County Sheriff

  • Couse Creek Road, Milton-Freewater. A concerned citizen reported “there is someone on his property and he is from Canada and cold.” The man reported he attempted to chase the alleged trespasser away, but said he thought the suspect had instead broke into his garage. Dispatchers reported “(reporting party) has fired off a warning shot.”
  • Cold Springs Loop, Weston. A man told police he was going to block a road with his tractor because he is “done going to all the meetings,” about whether snowmobile riders are allowed to use the road.
