It was sad to learn that a hotel will be built on the large lot off Rose Street. It was the ideal place for a new cannery, with its access to highways. Also with ample room for semis with their extra trailer to turn around.
So convenient, but now the chance for a cannery is lost forever. The new hotel is not convenient to downtown and no activities nearby, except the Gesa Power House Theatre, only open at night.
Maybe Marriot got the land cheap.
