COLLEGE PLACE– A standoff that lasted nearly eight hours in College Place on Sunday did not result in any arrests, according to law enforcement officials.
The standoff started at roughly 1:20 p.m. at a residence in College Place when a city police officer reported a wanted felon had entered a house in the 300 block of Southeast Third Street.
Scanner traffic indicated police believed the suspect to be armed and a flight risk.
At just after 3 p.m., College Place police called the SWAT team to the residence to assist with the standoff, according to Walla Walla Police Sgt. Steve Potter. The standoff ended around 8 p.m., according to Potter, and no arrests were made.
College Place police officials would not comment on the standoff as of press time today.
