Colton blasts Pomeroy girls, 82-26

COLTON — Mackenzie Monahan scored 16 of Pomeroy’s 26 points in a losing effort here Tuesday against Colton, 82-26, in Southeast 1B girls basketball action.

“They’re just that good,” Pomeroy coach Nettie Severs said. “We competed well the whole game. They’re just that much better than us right now. My girls worked hard tonight but were just up against a really good team.”

Monahan also led the Pirates with six boards. Torri Koller and Savannah Ruark broke into the scoring column with four points apiece.

The Pirates (6-12, 4-10 SE 1B) host Touchet Friday at 6 p.m.
