WALLA WALLA — Police are investigating reports that an 18-year-old man has repeatedly shoplifted large amounts of booze from local stores.

According to a police report, witness statements and video surveillance show an 18-year-old man took liquor from stores, including Safeway and Rite Aid, roughly eight times in June. The thefts reportedly include an estimated $350 worth of liquor stolen from Rite Aid on June 14.

Based on the amount and frequency of the shoplifting, the young man could face charges of organized retail theft, according to police, who may have also identified accomplices to the alleged booze thefts.
