ATHENA — The Athena Caledonian Games, a Scottish heritage festival, will be July 12-14 at City Park on Third Street.
There will be music and entertainment, kids’ games, clan tents and vendors both days.
On July 13 the 5K fun run will start at 7:30 a.m.; sheep dog trials will start at 8 a.m.; and the parade will be 9 a.m. on Current and Darwin streets.
Piping competition will begin at 10 a.m. and athletic competition from noon-6 p.m. at the athletic field at Weston-Ewen High School.
Horseshoe tournaments will begin at 2 p.m. in City Park.
Bagpipe bands from Boise and Spokane will join the Weston McEwen Pipes and Drums for the 6:30 p.m. tattoo on the field at the high school.
July 14 starts with the Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan at 9:30 a.m. in the park, with entertainment until about 3 p.m., a presentation by the Knights of Veritas at 11:30 a.m., more pipes and drums and music.
