Theft and vandalism reports were filed Thursday and today unless otherwise noted.

Walla Walla

Multiple vehicles and a detached garage were reported entered in the area of the 600 block of Division Street between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Another vehicle prowl was reported in the 200 block of West Chestnut Street this morning and a bag of fireworks were stolen.

Several grass and field fires were reported with city limits between 9:44 p.m. and about 11 p.m. on the Fourth of July. Locations included 2800 block of Melrose Street, 900 block of Mountain Park Drive, at the intersection of Chase Avenue and Stahl Avenue, in the 1300 block of 13th Avenue and in the 700 block of Seventh Avenue.

College Place

Firefighters were called shortly before 6 a.m. today to a fire in an detached shed at 704 S.E. Date Ave. The structure was fully involved and had spread to two vehicles parked outside by the time firefighters arrived. The cause was still under investigation this morning.


A fireworks-related brush fire reported shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday burned about one acre of dry grass and a vehicle in a vacant field on the northwest corner of West Humorist Road and North Columbia Road.


A bicycle was reported stolen late Thursday night in the 300 block of Miller.

Umatilla County

A woman reported her purse was stolen from her car while it was parked at the junior rodeo showgrounds off Highway 11 Wednesday afternoon.


WW County Sheriff

Francisco J. Ruiz, 40, 223 Merrill Road, today. Charge: investigation of driving while intoxicated.
