WATER PROJECT: Approved use of $2,000 from major projects fund to begin work on city water project, which would drill a new well and replace some pipes. The city is seeking funding from the USDA for the project, and will use city money to move forward with planning so work can begin as soon as USDA funding is obtained.
TREES: Public works department is consulting with Forestry Department in Portland and LaGrande to determine which types of trees should be planted along Main Street. The city is removing existing trees because their roots are pushing sidewalks up.
