A memorial service was held Saturday for Air Force Maj. Larry J. Hanley, whose remains were recently returned home. Hanley was killed in action while flying over Laos on Nov. 4, 1969, during the Vietnam War. Close to 200 people attended the service at Assumption Catholic Church, while outside approximately 80 veterans organized by Patriot Guard Riders lined the street and walkway to the church while carrying 50 American flags. After the service, Hanley was buried at Mt. View Cemetery.
