Betty L. Thomason

Betty L. Thomason, 89, of Walla Walla, passed away July 14, 2013, at Providence St. Mary Medical Center.

Betty was born May 15, 1924, in El Reno, Oklahoma, to Dan and Helen Swatzky Siemens. She attended school in El Reno in a one room school house. She had lived in the Walla Walla Valley for 30 years moving from Milton-Freewater 4-1/2 years ago. She married Linvel L. Thomason on March 31, 1943 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Betty was a homemaker and liked to play Bingo and do crafts. She enjoyed going to Yuma for winters and was an avid QVC shopper.

Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, active and serving in many different callings.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Dave) Campbell of Benton City, WA; a son, Larry (Sally) Thomason of Walla Walla; a brother, Dan H. Siemens, Jr.; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, Linvel; a daughter, Donna Rose and a sister, Naomi.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, Washington.

A graveside service and interment will be at noon on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens, 300 SE Myra, College Place, Washington, with son, Larry and daughter, Linda as Celebrants.
