PRESCOTT — A 27-year-old Prescott man could face first-degree assault charges after allegedly stabbing a co-worker in an after-work tussle.

According to documents presented in court this morning, Jeremia Faria Garcia, 27, and Jose M. Lopez, 39, squared off at an undisclosed location Monday.

Both men work for Broetje Orchards, and Lopez told Walla Walla Sheriff’s Office deputies that he and Garcia “didn’t like each other” and they were going to settle things after work.

According to court documents, Lopez said that Garcia pulled a knife on him during the confrontation. Lopez tried to run but tripped, and Garcia stabbed him in the left arm and chest.

Lopez then drove himself to 135 Sarah Lynne Lane. When deputies arrived, Lopez was covered in dried blood from his neck to his waist, according to court documents.

Lopez was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in the Tri-Cities.

Deputies found Garcia in his home at 261 Gala Drive, Precott. Deputies reported Garcia attempted to retreat into his home before he was taken to the ground and searched.

Deputies reported there appeared to be dried blood on his pants and on a knife found in his pocket.

Garcia was lodged at the Walla Walla County Jail, and bail was set this morning at $25,000.
