Welcome Table Farms opens roadside farmstand

Welcome Table Farms’ new roadside farmstand has taken root.

What may look like a giant gopher mound from the street is actually the living roof on top of the new farmstand, owners Andy and Emily Asmus announced via newsletter.

With help from their farm crew, the two are offering onsite, midweek sales of produce and flowers at 1812 Old Milton Highway. The stand operates 2-6 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Among the offerings now: carrots, beets, potatoes, garlic, greens and basil. Tomatoes and corn are expected next week. Fresh greens and storage crops will be available through winter.

Those in the market for bulk orders should call ahead. Customers making the trek to the southside farm stand on bike will get a 10 percent discount on their purchases. For more details click here or call 529-0772.
