WSU men to play Butler in Old Spice Classic opener

PULLMAN — The Washington State men’s basketball team will face Butler in its first game of the Old Spice Classic on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. Pacific in Orlando, Fla.

The matchup between the Cougars and Bulldogs will be televised on ESPN2. The three other matchups scheduled for Thanksgiving Day are Purdue vs. Oklahoma State (9 a.m.), Memphis vs. Siena (3:30 p.m.) and Louisiana State vs. Saint Joseph’s (5:30 p.m.).

The second day of action begins Nov. 29 at 8 a.m. Pacific with consolation No. 1 (on ESPNU), followed by semifinal No. 1 at 10:30 a.m. PT (on ESPN), semifinal No. 2 at 2:30 p.m. (on ESPN2) and consolation No. 2 at 5 p.m. PT (on ESPNU). Games continue Dec. 1.

Washington State has faced Butler one other time. The Bulldogs defeated the Cougars 84-68 on Christmas Day 2010 in the championship game of the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu.
