Businesses pitch in to help with lemonade stand

Have a thirst for a cause?

Walla Walla Builders Supply will be the place to get replenished Friday.

The business, 607 W. Tietan St., will be the location of a lemonade stand fundraiser for juvenile arthritis by Walla Walla resident Allison Wanichek.

An item in Strictly Business last week originally gave an incorrect date for the event. The fundraiser takes place from noon to 3 p.m. Friday.

This is the third year Wanichek has hosted the fundraiser. Along with assistance from her mom, Staci, brother, Jack, and cousins and friends, she has used the stand to raise more than $8,000 for the cause and spread the word on juvenile arthritis, with which she was diagnosed shortly before beginning her efforts.

In addition to her stand, Wanichek has gotten help this year from Stone Hut Bar & Grill, Red Monkey Downtown Lounge and Green Spoon, which have all been raising money from the sale of their own lemonade over the last week.
