1961 - 2013

Jeffery Anspach

Aug. 21, 1961 — July 23, 2013

Jeffery Scott Anspach was born Aug. 21, 1961, in Walla Walla to Gary and Patricia (Hanford) Anspach. He passed away on July 23, 2013. Jeff, the oldest of four children, grew up in Milton-Freewater, helping his parents tend to the family farm.

In 1979, Jeff graduated from McLoughlin High School and soon after began raising Stephanie, Christopher and Joshua, the first three of his four children.

In 1989, Jeff married Juanita Effinger, the love of his life. Eventually, he then had his fourth child, Anthony. Jeff absolutely adored his wife and four children.

In 1994, Jeff took a job with the United States Postal Service. If Jeff was the mailman on your route you knew it. Jeff was always quite the character and had a friendly smile for anyone he should cross paths with.

A Guinness beer and bowling a “300” game were some of the things Jeff enjoyed. He also loved his tie dyed T- shirts, classic rock, golf, photography and the outdoors. Jeff was also very proud of his Irish heritage. He had wanted to visit Ireland and was always “working” on his accent for when he got there.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Juanita Anspach; his daughter, Stephanie Jones and husband Kenneth of Ontario, Ore.; his three sons, Christopher Anspach and wife Shelly of Covington, Wash., Joshua Anspach of Renton, Wash., and Anthony Anspach of Walla Walla; his parents, Gary and Patricia Anspach; sisters, Sandy Swigher of Milton-Freewater, Juli Deskin of Eugene; a brother, Britt Anspach also of Eugene; his five grandchildren, Allison, Karson, Dekeon, Chloe and Jelissa; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

The memorial funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jeffery Scott Anspach Memorial Fund through the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at
