Jan. 20, 1933 — July 25, 2013

Norma Nell Ellis, 80, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2013, at the Odd Fellows Home with her family present. She was a resident of Walla Walla for 50 years, coming here to help open Smitty’s Pancake House, (now Clarette’s) and ran the kitchen there until her retirement 18 years ago.

Her first child, Norma Lou, was born in 1956, and Albert was born in 1966. She and Floyd divorced in 1972, and she never remarried. She devoted her life to her children and sacrificed mightily for them, and then for her three grandchildren. She loved sewing, woodworking, painting, and kept busy with Bible studies after retirement.

She is survived by two children, Norma Terry and Albert Ellis of Walla Walla; son-in-law, Ed Terry; grandchildren, Kye Terry of Everett, Wash., Bailee Walters and her husband, Robert of Yakima, Ashlee Ellis of Touchet; three step-grandchildren; five nieces; three nephews; and sister-in-law Pat Felton of Oklahoma.

The funeral service will be held at New Beginnings Chapel, 822 W. Main in Walla Walla on Wed. July 31, 2013, at 10 a.m. with a lunch provided afterward. Burial will be private at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Connections International through the funeral home.
