If you’re heading downtown to see Seattle children’s band The Recess Monkeys play Main Street on Friday you may find yourself in an ideal sandwich for dinner and dessert.
The concert — one of three planned by the band in Walla Walla that day — will take place right in front of Bright’s Candies, 11 E. Main St., and across from Salumiere Cesario, 12 E. Main St.
Colby and Damon Burke, owners of Italian market and eatery Salumiere Cesario, will be grilling up footlong frankfurters and bratwurst starting at 5 p.m. in preparation for the crowds. The patio will also be open for parents who want to enjoy a glass of wine or beer with kids in sight during the event.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m., which means drivers should anticipate sections of Main Street to be closed. (Incidentally, portions of Main will also be closed for the setup of Peach Basket Classic.)
The free concert is brought to town by The Moms’ Network of Walla Walla. The two other performances will take place Friday at 11 a.m. at the Walla Walla Public Library and at 3 p.m. outside at the YMCA.
