Charlotte Anne Pauly, 84, died May 16, 2013, in Chelan, Wash. The graveside service will be held on July 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Masonic Cemetery with Rev Roland Shanks presiding.
Mrs. Pauly was born Nov. 27, 1928, in Walla Walla to Charles and Elizabeth Lindberg. She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1944 and attended Washington State University. She worked many years at the Drumheller Building and then worked as the administrative secretary for the career planning and placement center at Whitman College, eventually retiring in 1983.
She married Hugh Arvin Pauly on March 20, 1949, in the First Congregational Church in Walla Walla. They met at the old Recreation Lanes bowling alley and were both avid bowlers in their younger years. They played a great deal of Pinochle and Charlotte was a member of a bridge group for 40 some years. She was an ardent homemaker and enjoyed time with family and friends. They had four sons whom they raised in Walla Walla. She was actively involved in their son’s activities and eventually in the activities of her grandchildren, including high school football, classic soccer and music recitals. She was a longtime member of the Central Christian Church.
Survivors include her four sons and three daughters-in-law, Charles and Joan Pauly of Manson, Wash., Robert Pauly of Hicksville, N.Y., David and Tammy Pauly of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Thomas and Pamela Pauly of Olympia; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Pierce Lindberg; and daughter-in-law, Molly Pauly.
