It is time again to commend the grounds keepers of each local cemetery. They do such excellent work the year round. Memorial Day requires extra preparation and much clean up so that we, the public, can honor our loved ones in comfort and ease. The extended days to leave flowers, etc. on the graves is appreciated also.
The volunteers who keep up the Touchet Cemetery did a great job. The Milton Cemetery is so beautiful and Mountain View in Walla Walla. The veterans sections are so inspiring. The white markers and flags remind me of lights shining in the darkness protecting a small town —— not unlike the veterans protecting our freedom, as they did and as they, our service men and women, do today.
