Salumiere Cesario celebrating with extended hours

The owners of Salumiere Cesario are celebrating the longer days of the season with extended hours.

Starting this weekend downtown Walla Walla’s gourmet grocery, 12 E. Main St., will remain open Friday and Saturday nights until 8. As of next week that will also include Thursdays.

The shop will open earlier Saturday mornings — 10 a.m. — to accommodate traffic from the Downtown Farmers Market, too.

“Customers have been asking for us to stay open late since we moved to Main Street, so we thought we’d give it a try,” said co-owner Colby Burke in an announcement. “We hope to offer a place to hang out, visit with friends, grab a quick bite or a drink before your evening plans kick in.”

To help with the change, five more staff members have been hired on at the shop and a special, condensed menu has been created for evening dinners. That includes artisan cheese and charcuterie plates, small bites and revolving menu specials. Beer and wine by the glass or bottle and an array of non-alcoholic beverages are also available.
