Fridays on First is back for another year.
More than a dozen vendors will fill First Avenue, between Main and Alder streets, on Friday in what will serve as a communal celebration of shopping, entertainment and visiting.
The downtown stretch of property will be closed off to traffic by 3:30 p.m., so motorists should expect to clear the area then. The event will run 5-9 p.m.
Art exhibits, produce and a musical performance by Jesse Campos are all part of the lineup. The music starts at 5:30 p.m., said Plumb Cellars owner Edie Johnson, one of the event’s coordinators.
Merchants along First are expected to operate with extended hours and offer specials during the event.
The celebration is expected to take place on the first Friday of every month into October, and possibly beyond, organizers say.
