Printer/copier comapany Abadan left its mark on the fight against hunger through a recent fundraiser.

The Richland-based company, which operates an office in Walla Walla, donated $1,105 to feed hungry families in Walla Walla, Pendelton and Hermiston.

The fundraiser is part of a sales blitz that comes with a twist. For three days in May, Abadan representatives arranged to meet with business operators all over the communities. For every business willing to take a few minutes to talk about printing and copying needs, Abadan pledged $5 to a food bank in that community. Participating businesses also were entered into a raffle for a $100 gift card.

Abadan reps visited 221 businesses in Walla Walla and Hermiston in May. The company donated $500 to the Blue Mountain Action Council and $605 to the Community Action Program of East Central Oregon.
