WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Bruins remained undefeated in Central Washington AA American Legion League play here Saturday in baseball action at the Walla Walla Community College field.
The Bruins pounded out 11 hits to defeat the Kennewick Phantoms, 10-2.
The Bruins got one run in the first and, starting with the fourth, tacked on runs in four consecutive innings, capping the scoring with a five-spot in the home seventh. Trevor Coronado singled home two Bruin runs to highlight the five-run uprising.
Bruins starting pitcher Ryan Kimball didn’t need all of that run support, as Kimball gave up two runs while fanning 13 through his seven innings of work.
Logan Cordeiro came on in relief and blanked Kennewick over the last two frames.
“Ryan was pretty dominant today,” Bruins coach Jason Parsons said.
On the offensive side, Adam Eskil led the 11-hit attack with three hits. Reid Magnaghi and Kal Gray each chipped in two hits.
The win improves the Bruins to a perfect 7-0 in league play, and 8-1 overall.
The Bruins travel to Kennewick to play a doubleheader with the Phantoms today at 5 p.m. at Roy Johnson Field.
