Tax system should be fair for all

The letter to the editor on June 2 from Denny Sedam states the facts about the IRS incident in precise and accurate words!

That the IRS was selecting the tea party to audit for political reasons is just plain ridiculous! We should be grateful it is making sure these organizations are not seeking “social welfare” status. A political party is hardly a welfare program.

I only wish it would go further and go after these people who are stashing their taxable money in offshore accounts while the “47 percent” Romney wrote off are footing the bill.

Well, I will concede there are those who take as much as possible and all the while are damning the Democratic Party and calling them liberals. I have yet to see any one of them refusing Social Security or Medicare, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not advocating a communist form of government, I just want things to be fair! But until we do away with these lobbyists and PACs (political action committees) we will never really have a “government of the people, by the people and for the people.”

Ms Samples - if you are referring to Seniors not taking there Social Security and Medicare so that the government can survive you apparently haven't reached the Senior age? After paying into both for decades and receiving a token payment are not a reward. Why not delve into the real issues of Social Security and Medicare such as illegals collecting and not paying in a dime. Good place to start.

If you check you will find that only certain groups were singled out and put on hold while most liberal and progressive tax-exempt organizations were granted tax-exempt status within months. If you want a reference check why (funded by George Soros) and the NAACP is tax-exempt when they will tell you to vote for certain politicians (bias maybe). There was certainly a bias against certain groups and a lot of them were just quoting the Good Ole US of A's Constitution which this Administration hasn't figured out what that is yet.

No political organization is tax exempt ... PERIOD. I quit donating to them for this reason and because they can become divisive. I don't want be "fired-up". I want to enjoy my life.

I now donate to the U.S. Forest Service's reforestation program. One dollar plants one tree. Almost everyone can enjoy a tree - a tree that will still be growing after these politicians cycle through office. Let's try and unite, especially on what we can agree on.
