June 22, 1928 — May 15, 2013
Jeanne Talbot Nelson Roll, age 84, of Vancouver received her angel wings on May 15, 2013, due to complications from congestive heart failure. Jeanne was born to Paul and Myrtle Nelson on June 22, 1928, in Albert Lea, Minn.
Following high school graduation in 1946, she attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Duluth, Minn., receiving her degree in 1951. She worked as a registered nurse in Iowa, North Dakota, Washington and Oregon, specializing in pediatric care for the last 18 years of her career. She was married to Michael V. Roll for 32 years.
Following her husband’s death in 1983, she traveled the world, enjoying scuba diving, cycling, youth hostels and hiking in such places as Nepal, Mexico, Fiji, Holland, Great Britain, Canada, Jamaica, Australia and The Bahamas. Her passion for nursing never waned and she enjoyed learning and practicing therapeutic massage and other modalities of healing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an older brother, Pauly; and her husband. She is survived by a younger brother, Richard C. Nelson; her children, Michael P. Roll and Patricia Roll Brumley; her grandsons, Brian Dooley and Brandon Roll; and many nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

The family sends deep appreciation to the staff members of Glenwood Place Senior Living, Kaiser Permanente, PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, Hospice Southwest, and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church for their friendship, care and comfort provided to Jeanne throughout her life.
