If you don’t think glassware has an effect on how wine tastes, you can experience it for yourself with 10th-generation glassmaker Georg Riedel.

The iconic glassmaker is coming to Pepper Bridge Winery on June 22 for a presentation and demonstration.

The event runs 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at 1704 JB George Road.

The impact of glass design on a wine’s aromas and flavors will be the topic. The points will be demonstrated with Pepper Bridge’s 2010 cabernet sauvignon, Amavi Cellars’ 2010 Les Collines Vineyard syrah; and Tendril Wine Cellars’ 2010 pinot noir.

Riedel will also lead attendees through a food-and-wine-pairing exercise with Lindt chocolate. The ticket price is $80, and includes a set of Vinum XL glasses used in the class. The glasses alone typically retail at $90.

Recognized for transforming wine culture, Riedel’s design-focused collections are used by wine connoisseurs, hospitality professionals and consumers across the globe. The pieces have been selected for display at the British Museum, the Museum of Modern ARt, the Corning Museum of Glass, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and more.
