A familiar face in the wine and restaurant industry is at Tourism Walla Walla.
Barb Commare has joined the agency as communications and marketing manager.
She brings 11 years in hospitality, including extensive experience in the wine and restaurant industries, to the Valley’s official destination marketing organization.
In her new role she will be responsible for ongoing communication with visitor-related businesses and tourism industry stakeholders, developing and implementing an effective social and electronic media marketing communications plan and helping with visitor inquiries, according to an announcement.
“Barb’s experience in office administration, social media, and electronic marketing, particularly in the hospitality and wine industries, will be invaluable to Tourism Walla Walla’s ongoing efforts to promote and grow tourism,” said Tourism Executive Director Ron Peck in a prepared statement. “We are fortunate to have her as part of the team, and we look forward to the immediate and lasting contributions she will make to the tourism promotion efforts of the Walla Walla Valley.”
For the last eight years Commare has been office manager for Walla Walla Vintners. She also spent four years before that as office manager at Whitehouse-Crawford, where she started after a move from San Diego.
