Columbia County Commissioners are Dwight Robanske, Charles Reeves and Mike Talbott. With all present Wednesday, the board:
HEARING: Approved hearing for county franchise agreement with Renewable Energy Services for July 17 at 10:05 a.m.
RIGHT OF WAY: Approved right of way permit for S. Patit Road.
UNION: Approved 2013-15 collective bargaining agreement with public works employees,
IRRIGATION: Authorized chair to sign letter petitioning to expand West End Irrigation District, which would put the entire county golf course within one irrigation district.
STAFFING: Approved job description and pay schedule for assistant county engineer, and approved motion to promote Seth Walker to that position, from his job as lead designer.
PLANNING: Heard presentation from the Department of Ecology about required changes to the county’s Shoreline Management Plan.
DOGS: Discussed problem of aggressive dogs with county planner Kim Lyonnais, who said he would like to develop a policy defining “aggressive dogs” and hold a public hearing on the issue.
ELEVATOR: Heard recommendation from county engineer to accept Lewis Elevators bid for courthouse elevator maintenance. No action was taken, and commissioners said they wanted county lawyer to look over proposal first.
