PORTLAND — Portland Thorns midfielder Becky Edwards will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee.
Edwards suffered the injury while training in Portland last week. She tweeted Thursday that the surgery went well and she’s on the road to recovery.
Edwards started each of the club’s first 10 matches this season. The Thorns are tied for first place in the inaugural National Women’s Soccer League season.
