Iris York Dyer of Tualatin, Ore., formerly of Milton-Freewater, passed away April 19, 2013, in Tualatin at the age of 98 years. Graveside services will be Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery with Pastor Paul Panke officiating. Refreshments will be served after the graveside at First Christian Church, Milton-Freewater.
Iris was born April 8, 1915, to Albert and Lula Clark Thomason. She married Bill York in 1935 and her second marriage was to Gordon Dyer. After graduating from high school, she attended business college for a year and became a bookkeeper for the family businesses. She was very active in the social life of Milton-Freewater including, Eastern Star, PEO, First Christian Church as a lifetime member, Rainbow Girls mother advisor, Pea Festival queen mother and when her husband Bill was mayor, had many functions at her home.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Gail Hansen, Billie Jean Siler; a sister, Fern Tompkins; grandchildren, Mike Burton, Lisa Burton Edwards, Douglas Olinger, Linda Olinger Foote, Susan Olinger, Todd Siler and Ann Siler McCann; great-grandchildren, Stephanie Burton Overgaard, Jeff Burton, Sarah Edwards, Chelsea Edwards, Megan Foote, Ryan Foote, Aaron Olinger, Chuck Ezelle, Tiffany McCann, Jerad McCann, Jennifer McCann, Chloe McCann, Marcus McCann, Tanner Siler, Rayne Siler, Heather Burr, Aaron Baldwin and Kyle Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Addison Burr, Ethan Baldwin and Jaxon Ezelle.
