College Place City Council members are William Jenkins, Alexander Scott, Marge Nyhagen, Bernie Yanke, Mayor Rick Newby and Larry Dickerson. (Two seats are currently vacant.) With all present Monday, the council voted as follows:
hearing examiner: Approved ordinances to implement a hearing examiner system and establish a hearing examiner position to consistently apply city development standards. Unanimous.
water system: Authorized administration to execute amendment for water system plan update in the amount of $5,860. Additional work to further define capacities and needed improvements. Unanimous.
transportation: Presentation, discussion and public hearing on city’s six-year Transportation Improvement Plan for 2014-2019. Resolution to adopt plan approved. Unanimous.
right of way: Discussion and outline of proposed Right of Way Management Act to establish a consistent basis for protecting existing and future infrastructure investments. Action on ordinance to be taken at future council meeting.
appointment: Update by City Administrator Pat Reay on process to appoint replacements for two vacant council positions. Responses from five applicants are due back Friday. Interview of candidates for position 4 seat set for July 8 and for position 1 seat on July 22.
