July 17, 1955 ~ June 23, 2013

Walla Walla resident Debra L. Smith, 57, died June

23, 2013, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Richland,

WA. Arrangements are entrusted to Mountain View-

Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla,

WA. The memorial celebration of life will be 10:00 a.m.

Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Mountain View-Colonial

DeWitt, Walla Walla.

Debra was born July 17, 1955, in Great Falls, Montana,

to Richard and Marlene Smith. She moved to Walla Walla

in 1964 from Great Falls. She attended schools in Walla

Walla, graduating from WaHi in 1973, and took several

classes at Walla Walla Community College.

Debra had been a long time cancer survivor and

cancer advocate. She enjoyed being a grandmother and

loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a

good friend and loved her children very much.

Survivors include one daughter, Lindsey Stimpfle; one

step-daughter, Ashley Ellison both of Walla Walla; two

sons, “Chad” Richard Gusman of Milton-Freewater, Eric

Scott Gusman of Pasco; her father, Richard Smith; one

sister, Linda Jo Gardner; two brothers, Allen R. Smith,

and Leonard G. Smith; four grandchildren, Madison,

Gabriel, Mia, Sophia , plus two on the way; nieces and

nephews, Jeremy, Mike, Amanda, Edward, Zach, Jade,

Clayton, Ryan and Shannon; and longtime partner,

DeWitte Ellison and good friend, Marty Shafer. She was

preceded in death by her mother, Marlene and one

sister, Christine.
