Library's cowboy poetry celebration, contest April 23

PRESCOTT — To celebrate National Cowboy Poetry Week, Prescott Community Library will host the free annual Cowboy Poetry Celebration at 7 p.m. April 23 in Lions Hall, 101 S. D. St.

The library is accepting entries for the cowboy poetry contest.

Entrants are asked to bring in or email their poems on the theme of cowboy or western life to the library along with a name, street and email addresses and phone number.

Those under age 18 should include age, grade in school and parent’s name and contact information.

Contest entries may be sent to prescott@wwrurallibrary.com.

The event will feature a performance by Nevada Slim and Cimarron Sue, open mike poetry readings and announcement of the winners of the Cowboy Poetry contest.
