PENDLETON — The Umatilla County Search and Rescue will hold demonstrations at the Eastern Oregon Sportsman Show, being held in Pendleton this weekend.
The agency is hosting the demonstrations for public education and also in an effort to expand their team.
Search and rescue teams are dedicated to helping injured or stranded persons, as well as assisting local and regional law enforcement agencies. The demonstration schedule is:
Saturday
- Noon — Basic GPS Use
- 2 p.m. — Basic Outdoor Survival Skills
- 3 p.m. — Survival Fire Demonstration
Sunday
- Noon — Basic Outdoor Survival Skills
- 1 p.m. — Survival Fire Demonstration
