WALLA WALLA — A group to help people manage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease — COPD — will host an introductory meeting Thursday, 3:30 to 5 p.m., in the Providence Room on Level 1 of Providence St. Mary Medical Center.

The presentation will be helpful for people with chronic bronchitis, reoccurring pneumonia or pulmonary fibrosis. Their family members and caregivers are also welcome.

People living with the disease can take steps to breathe and feel better, and a video session will show the basics of living with COPD. Medical providers will be on hand for questions and participants will tour the gym used for pulmonary rehabilitation.

Future sessions will offer speakers, education and information to help people better manage their conditions and live healthier lives. For more information, call 525-3320, ext. 2140 or email katherine.boettcher@providence.org.
