Mt. Hood pounds Warrior softball team

WALLA WALLA — Mt. Hood Community College pounded the Walla Walla Community College Warriors here Saturday, 14-2 and 14-3, to leave the Warriors’ record at 2-4 overall.

Warrior pitching gave up six home runs in the doubleheader.

Freshman Kaitlin Erm started both games while Kaydee Tarin and Sam Robillard pitched in relief.

The top of the order produced for the Warriors.

Walla Walla’s No. 1 and 2 hitters, Karly Hudelson and Brandy Knowles, respectively, combined for seven hits in two games.

Mt. Hood smacked 36 hits over the 14 innings of play and took six bases on balls.

MHCC’s Teauna Hughes hit three home runs, had five hits and seven RBIs in the opening game.

Kylee Gaspar homered in both games for Mt. Hood.

WWCC takes the field again today for two at home against Clackamas starting at noon.
