Daylight savings

At 2 a.m. today, daylight saving time arrived with the promise of many months with an extra hour of evening light.

Make sure you have turned your clock forward — spring ahead, fall back. It’s also a good time to put new batteries in warning devices such as smoke detectors and hazard warning radios.

Hawaii, most of Arizona, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas do not observe daylight saving taime..

The time changes back Nov. 3.
