BURBANK — A teen alerted his parents to a kitchen fire that destroyed the Burbank family’s home at 154 Main St. early Sunday.
According to a Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office report, Taylor Gridley, 18, and a friend were playing on the computer when Taylor heard what sounded like an explosion. When he investigated, he saw the kitchen drapes on fire, and alerted his parents, Jerry and Tracey Gridley.
All four people in the house were able to get out safely, according to the Sheriff’s Office Report. The Gridley’s daughter, Lilly, was staying with a friend at the time of the fire.
Fire District 5 officials were not available for comment this morning concerning the cause of the fire.
