Weekend warriors can work up a sweat at free Jazzercise classes this month.
Every weekend in March the local Jazzercise fitness facility, 23 1/2 S. Spokane St., offers free unlimited classes Friday afternoons, Saturdays and Sundays.
Owner Janet Byerley said three formats will be offered: body sculpting, classic Jazzercise and Jazzercise circuit training.
The body sculpting takes place Fridays at 4:30 p.m. and Sundays at 9 a.m. with a focus on arms, core, glutes and legs. The 40-50-minute muscle toning workout features strength training and stretching with no dance.
Classic Jazzercise is offered at 9 and 10:10 a.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sundays. The hourlong cardio routine blends dance and muscle-toning movements choreographed to top 40, jazz, country, funk and classic music. Classes include a gentle warmup, 30-minute aerobic workout, muscle toning and strengthen with weights, and a stretch finale.
Jazzercise circuit training runs 7:30 a.m. Saturdays. It’s similar to regular Jazzercise combining cardio and strength training to encourage rise and fall of the heart rate.
