Don M. Lang of Milton-Freewater passed away March 7, 2013, at his home at the age of 74 years. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery with Pastor Steve Lyons officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 1-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Walla Walla Community Hospice in care of the funeral home.
Don Marvin Lang was born on Sept. 7, 1938, the son of Marvin and Neva (Craig) Lang in Detroit. Don served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He had a long career as a truck driver, which he truly loved. He loved working on his cars and going shooting. He met our mom, Virginia “Ginny” Childers, and they married on Oct. 12, 1985. She preceded him in death in May of 2009.
Don is survived by his sisters, Nancy Morton and Kathy Matney; sons, Troy and Tony Lang; son, Roger Schlimme and his wife Ruth; daughter, Tina Penland; grandchildren, Tawny Fox and her husband Erick, Brandon Creel, Samantha and Tyler Penland, Jesse, Dillon and JJ Schlimme; great-grandchildren, Mason and Hudson Fox; and other relatives and friends. His parents; wife; son, Raymond Lewis Lang; and a sister, Pat Van Sickle, all preceded him in death.
