MOSES LAKE — Walla Walla High School’s girls golf team tied for third out of 15 teams at the best-ball Moses Lake Invite at the par-72 Moses Lake Country Club Monday.
Wa-Hi finished tied with Southridge with a team score of 168.
Hanford won the invite with a team score of 145 and Richland placed second with a 166.
The pairing of Jessica Huntsman and Shanna Postlewait led Wa-Hi with an 82. Kendall Dunovant and Marisa Jimenez carded an 86.
Hanford’s Kelsey Aiello scored 76 to earn medalist honors.
Huntsman led Wa-Hi individually with an 83, good for seventh place.
Dunovant scored 88, Jimenez 102 and Postlewait 109.
“Kendall (Dunovant), that was her personal best,” Wa-Hi coach Mike Patterson said. “For the second match of the year — we haven’t had a whole lot of practice time — I’m very pleased with how the girls are doing.
“It was a little chilly but the course was in great shape,” he said. “There were no complaints about the course or the weather, it’s just a matter of getting back into the grind and the girls getting used to playing competitive golf again.”
The Blue Devils host a Mid-Columbia Conference pod match Monday at Veterans Memorial.
