Whitman women wrap up Warrior Invite title

CLARKSTON — Whitman College’s women’s golfers wrapped up the title at the Warrior Invitational at Clarkston Golf and Country Club hosted by Lewis-Clark State College Tuesday.

The Missionaries followed Monday’s first-round, five-score 326 — which gave them a 26-shot lead, with a 329 Tuesday for 656 total.

Whitman’s Catelyn Webber shot 79-81—160 for medalist honors.

Also scoring for the Missionaries were Katie Zajicek at 80-81—161, Kelly Sweeney at 86-77—163, Elaine Whaley at 81-91—172, and Caitlin Holland at 86-90—176.

The host Warriors were second at 677, followed by the College of Idaho’s 695.

The Missionaries next head to Hawaii for the Aloha at Oahu Collegiate Classic in Honolulu March 21-22.
