WALLA WALLA — The Audubon Society will hold an all-day field trip, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday to a birding site on the Snake River, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hollebeke Habitat Management Unit, east of Burbank.

The trip, which will be led by Mike and MerryLynn Denny, will begin by carpool from the Harper Joy Theatre parking lot at Whitman College.

The search will be on for early spring arrivals such as swallows, sparrow species and bluebirds, waterfowl on the river, and fly-over sandhill cranes.

Newcomers to birdwatching are welcome. Participants should bring binoculars, dress for hiking and a lunch, if possible.

If attending, email or call the Dennys at m.denny@charter.net or 529-0080.
