WALLA WALLA — A vehicle fire in the 300 block of North Palouse Street that totaled a 2004 Cadillac Escalade, Saturday, is being investigated as an arson.
According to Officer Tim Bennett, spokesman for the Walla Walla Police Department, witnesses spotted an unknown suspect toss something into a black Escalade parked at 310 N. Palouse St. at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
When fire crews arrived, the passenger compartment of the vehicle was fully engulfed, according to Fire Chief Bob Yancey. The vehicle was valued at $15,000.
Police recovered a plastic kerosene can from the vehicle, and are continuing their investigation.
